The Epiphone Thunderbird, that is. I ordered one for christmas a while back and it just showed up today. WoooW! This thing roars like a monster from a nightmare. Arrived perfectly set-up with good strings, it adds a new sound to my "pop" punk band that wasn't there before. While the P-Bass sound from my MiM fender was powerful, I admit, I didn't sound to different from every other teenage punk bassist with a pick. Now, now I have what I personally feel to be my own sound. I know that these Epibirds are nothing new and that plenty of you have played them, but I'm rather excited and feel the need to make my own thread about it. The neck dive really does exist, but it doesn't bother me. I played it for a while standing up with a $3.00 ernie ball strap and have dismissed the overall weight of the instrument as a non-issue, no shoulder pain from an hour and a half of playing. (( Just a side note to what many would consider to be the cons of the instrument )) I know the "no pic no bass" rule and, though it is not a rare bass, will post pics as soon as I've had my fun.
