I was driving today and it struck me.

Most cars I see on the road are black, white or silver/grey.

Virtually no cars have any COLOR! It's BORING and DRAB!

I must wag a finger at the mirror as well. My truck is grey. My wife's car is black.

Even the few cars I saw that had any color at all were still dark and boring. Burgandy, muted blues like blue-grey, champagne (gold's boring cousin), and even various browns.

I made a vow that my next vehicle will NOT be a boring, dull color.

Here are a couple pics I took of a parking lot at one of my facilities. 20181114_160013.

We are on the same page with this one. I've been saying this for years. People are so freaaaaaking boring! I miss the 60s and 70s. I'm pissed that the "cars of the future (2018)" from when I was growing up - ARE THE UGLIEST, MOST BORING LOOKING CARS OF ALL TIME!!!!

In 1980, people imagined cars of 2018 to look something like this:

    Or even this:

    Instead, they look like this:

    AND THAT'S A BMW!!!!

In the 70s, driving something that looked like that would be more embarrassing than driving a station wagon. But people for some reason today think it looks cool. Because it costs a lot, and it's a BMW.

And with that finally out of my system, this is my car.

And this was my car before that:

And this was my car in 1979 :):

I'm not afraid of no color!!!!! No sir!

Aggressive driving and bright colors are a bad mix.

In this area I see all sorts of colors, nowhere near as boring as where you are.

US buyers of the 2019 VW Golf R can choose from the usual 5 standard colors, or from 40 special-order Spektrum colors for a $2500 upcharge.

The Spektrum color options were already available in Canada, where the most popular choice is Viper Green Metallic.

Various shades of blue are very popular these days. Blue isn’t in the poll!

What, no Blue on your survey?:woot: Actually, there are plenty of cars with non-boring colors here in SoCal but it may be a regional thing too.

  11. The only two speeding tickets I ever got were in bright red cars.
One was a Mustang, so yeah.
But the other was a Toyota Tercel. :rollno:

  12. I drove a zombie urine green Mustang GT, never got pulled over.
Had a red Ford EXP that could barely go the speed limit, got multiple tickets.
  13. Every now and then Mrs. Garage Bander and I comment about boring car colors.
Besides my Greenie, the other car is Gold.

I'm in a run of bright cars. Current is a 2015 Chevy Sonic in see-it-from-space yellow. Before that there was a Volvo C30 Polestar Limited Edition. They only came in Swedish Racing Green. Before that was a Solar Orange 350Z. Of course, the daily drivers were some color of drab.

Sounds like Mrs. GB’s favorite color -NOT!-
Sinus Infection Green is how she describes it.

Oh! I got ticketed in a Red Pinto once too. But not for speeding.

  18. Dad bought a new family car.
I rode to the dealer with him.
So he pulls up next to a Metalic Baby Poop Brown Maverick, and said to me.
    “How do like that one?”
I could hardly contain myself... ugh.
He told me to clean out all of the personal stuff from the trunk and glove box and wait while he goes in to get the keys. So I’m sitting there on by the front step of the dealer waiting, and he pulls up in this!
Same color, Laser Stripe and all.
I about Metallic Baby Pooped my pants.
This thing was doing 50 MPH before you even started the engine.

I dig dark gray, especially the graphite metallic from Dodge. After that, it's black and then white for preferred car colors for me.

I had one of these in almost the same color back in the 70's-80's. Loved it...
