The Complete Dingwall

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Geoff St. Germaine, Dec 20, 2002.

  1. Sheldon sent me some great shots of the finished bass today, so I figured I might as well start the completed thread.

  2. Let me be the first to say...that I absolutely hate you. words...

I wish I could get my hands on a Dingwall to try out...but you don't see very many in Alaska...

  3. The last for now. I have some more, but I am on a very slow connection over the holidays, and this is getting more and more frustrating.

Anyway, here is an overview of the specs:

    -Prima 6 string
-Redwood Lace Burl Top and Back
    -Pau Ferro Fretboard
-Alder/Walnut body core with flamed maple accent veneer
-matching headstock veneers (redwood and flamed maple)
    -matching wood knobs
    -matching wood back plates
    -matching wood pickups
    -Dingwall FD-1 pickups
    -Aguilar OBP-3 preamp
    -Dingwall blue cube mid circuit
    -Paua bar markers

I really can't say enough good about Sheldon Dingwall. He has been patient, friendly, professional and he has true class. He took a lot of time to perfect some parts of this bass, and know it must have been frustrating at times, but he never let it show. And then he turned out this beauty to boot. I am gonna be really scared of touching this thing, at least at first.

Gorgeous. The walnut on the upper arm-contour is really nice too.

Very beautiful, Geoff. Congrats. I'm interested to hear a report once you get it as to tone, playability, etc. I like everything about the way that one looks! And if it was mine, I'd touch it...a LOT!:D

Wow, very nice, Geoff. The flamed maple veneer and wooden knobs really compliment the bass. Congrats!

Geoff, that is amazing. Your threads have given me incredible GAS for a Dingwall.
  14. Absolutely stunning.

Goes to show what talent, skill, passion and the highest of standards can produce.

If there was ever any doubt, Mr. Dingwall is a Master.

Although it look fantastic, I bet it even sounds better.

    You one lucky dude!

"Spectacular" and "masterpiece" are the best words I can come up with, and they are inadequate. Congratulations, Geoff.
