    just fyi
i got a couple of these on e-bay for $89 including shipping
prepal says they're 72 bucks on average used
they are the discontinued project one stereo compressors and according to DBX have the same compressor as the 166xl and 266xl series of today
the interface is identical to a dbx 160A (bypass, threshold, hard knee/overeasy, ratio, output volume)
I've put them in between my preamps and poweramp and have had great results - (esp taming bass heavy transients for speaker protection)
not only do they sound pretty darned good but i prefer the 3 knob approach - dbx says that the attack and release are program dependent just like on the 160A
a cool deal if you can find one
