I’ve been traveling a bunch for work and just had the opportunity to gig my Jazz Bass for the first time. Bridge pickup and tone both rolled of about 1/3rd - tone for days...

RW's are nice playing basses. It had Fender PV64 pu's which have been discontinued (for whatever reason) and are hard to find. PV74's can still be found and also sound really good. Are the Dimarzio's split-coils?

Anybody that knows me...knows that i can't leave well enough alone...also I really don't like rosewood or tort ! (I know Blasphemy right !?)...The Fender Jazz bass that I just picked up last weekend has been given a 70's style overhaul...and now fits my personal aesthetic so much better...and with the addition of a badass style bridge and a fresh set of strings...this thing (now) to coin an annoying phrase "plays like butter" !!!!

    Enjoy

you know now that I think about it...not a single Fender I own is still stock...lol

I think this is a massive improvement! I prefer maple fretboards as well, and it just seems to match the natural color of the body as well. Nicely done!

Thanks! It actually seems to play better with the addition of this neck and bridge...I took it to band practice yesterday...and I have to say that after 35 years of trying to love a jazz bass (and I have tried many times) I think I'm finally sufficiently enamored enough to actually keep this one! the guys also agree

My jazz collection...though some would argue that one of these things is not like the others...and or not really a jazz bass at all

That seat looks mighty yucky and probably not the best place to take that picture!

that color is called midnight wine...and it changes depending on the light...I'm not overly fond of it, but it was a gift from my brother in law who quit playing so according to my wife I'm not allowed to get rid of it...
