All aluminum body, I saw an ad in latest BP, endorser using a carbon fiber neck...I bet it's pretty present sounding, would like to hear it. Looks interesting, probably lots of interesting finish options. I think this is a job for...JIO! I bet u could do cool things with corrosives.

Were Travis Bean instruments metal body or just the neck? I know a company called Veleno (spelling?) made a metal guitar in the 70's, Ronnie Montrose had one with a built in theremin. I think he said he had a helluva time keeping it in tune (the FAQ for Metalin mentions 30 minute acclimation period for the instrument out of case, in the room).

    It's just so...metal \m/

Well...yeah, I know ; ) Metal neck, metal body, THAT would be most metal. Put a Kramer "tuning fork" neck on it, there ya go. I thought that Kramer headstock was pretty fugly...

But seriously, I do like the look of that aluminum body.

Travis Beans were just aluminium necks. The Electrical Guitar Company makes aluminium necked instruments, with either aluminium, wood or acrylic bodies.

An international team of researchers has just published a paper confirming the existence of element number 117—ununseptium. It's the heaviest element ever created, with an atom of ununseptium outweighing an atom of lead by 40 percent. Make some room on your periodic table, there's a new metal in town

That's just iron with carbon in it. The 3d matrix metallic carbon thing was pretty cool, though. ;) (Still, carbon isn't a metal, even if it can be forced to behave like one.)

Ooooh...I like! How heavy is it? I'm curious about that on these metal bodied instruments.

Hues, is the entire body metallic, or is it wood with chambered areas under the honeycomb/grate patterned areas? I really like the patterning in the pickup area...are those actual holes or is it an image?
    Very cool looking...

  18. The best bass for metal is hanging up in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. It's made of machine gun parts. And revolver chambers, apparently.
