Ready? http://www.peterduncan.net/Full_shot.jpg http://www.peterduncan.net/Close_up_shot.jpg <beaming expression> :^) This will be one of three that I am ordering and I am going to keep the best two This one should be here tomorrow morning! YAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! This one came from Sweetwaters...for those wondering, Musicians' Friend continues to be un-friendly. I was told bass would ship today, and now I am told it will ship tomorrow. Grrrr.... -pd
About $1500. Only problem is that you can't choose between flamed or quilted maple. You have to take what you get on a phone order. I got lucky with this one...only quilts I have seen are on the 5 stringers. -pd
$1500? I paid $1440 for my 5-string. Personally I dont like quilted tops at all, but you'll love the sound edit: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41363 Greg
I LOVE quilt tops as long as they are bookmatched and aren't just two slabs of wood put together... I will probably keep this one and one other, and the other will be a tobacco burst one that will probably be a flamed maple top, so I will have one quilt and one flamed, both 4 stringers. Also, I originally bought the FMT like you have but in a 4 string model...I am starting to like the maple fingerboard better than the rosewood one. JMO though. -pd
Figured Maple Top... The thing I am kind of pumped about is I am getting the nice look of a Sadowsky or Lakland, but have the bass be a "real" Fender he he and not have to spend 3 thousand bucks on one bass...I can get TWO for that price! -pd
So, you think two added together might be as good as one Sadowsky? (sorry!) The bass looks great - enjoy! Let us know what you think! Jeff
I prefer the Maple boards myself but so far they aren't available in a five... I have no idea why. Good luck.
ohh god that is such a nice bass it seems like everybody is getting those FMT's i really like the finish.
Man, I wish you guys would quit posting pics of these FMT's. I am seriously thinking about buying one now. Nice bass, BTW, Peter.
Now we're talking, Dave. I'm looking for a fretless six and will definitely be considering a Hanewinckel. Very nice.
