I'll tell you what. I will make a custom card for every single member who posts a video playing a 6 string (or more) fretless at or above the level of JP Thesseling. :)

Seriously, JP Tesseling is a living fretless bass legend.

Really? At that level? How about twinkle twinkle little start on a 6 string Fretless???

    Seriously though..... that’s fair

Maybe I should have said 7 string. That would get into pretty thin territory. Or to cover this Obscura song on fretless:

Do I see myself making a custom card for @AB Nate ? Maybe? Probably not a lot others. :)

We are up to 1200 members here and even if only 5% got custom cards made, and I could do each in 15 minutes, that would be 15 solid hours of Photoshop plus communication. Not ready to sign myself up for that.

If there was some measurable goal that I could come up with, I wouldn't mind doing some, but not a bunch. Maybe if someone posts a video and can get xx number of likes? Just don't know. I am pretty busy as it is.

  7. Thanks for the member card!

I’ve had two great experiences so far building these basses with Warmoth parts. I’d definitely recommend it

    So many clubs here...I have a 5-string Carvin LB-75 fretless with High-C and an Ibanez 705 Portamento Low-B. KIMG0246.JPG

    It's a smooth playing bass.
I took it to practice tonight and it sounded great.
  12. Yeah, but those TIs will last for YEARS. I've never had to replace my TIJFs on my six string fretless Thor Bass. They're pricey, but oh, so worth it.

  13. Here's a pretty solid photo of my Thor Bass Mjolnir six string. Killer bass. Great build.

Thor is a good name for that. Looks like something a Viking bass player in Valhalla would play.

@kirkdickinson it's only a 5 string Zon, and it's not at anybody's level but my own, but I'm glad to share this vid.
    Love my Zon.

Wow, never would have thought it was a Glarry. Nice work. Posting a fretless bass photo here is enough to become a member of this club. Here is your card:

Never had a Carvin, but have admired them. I do have a 706 Portamento. Awesome basses.

  20. That's the brand name of the luthier, Karl Thorkildsen. He's tremendously skilled. He built basses for Steve DiGiorgio, of Death, Testament, and about 300 other metal bands, as well!
