I finally finished the bass. Here are the Specs again:

    Swamp ash body
    Trans-blue finish w/matching headstock
    35" scale length
    Maple and Purpleheart neck
    Birdseye maple fretbaord
    Seymour Duncan BassLines ASB2-5 pickups
Aguilar OBP-1 pre amp (the hold up. :))
    Gold hardware:
    -Gotoh GB-7 machines
    -HipShot quick release bridge

Well I have to say the bass sounds GREAT. I compared it to my Sadowsky 24 fret 5 & the sound is alot different. The EMG's in the Sadowsky are very GROWLY & have that Jazz tone. The BassLines have a little more Low/Mid's that sound nice. I have'nt played it @ rehearsal yet, but I have to say I'm VERY pleased w/how this bass turned out.

I didn't compare it to my Warmoth Dlx 5 (Sadowsky clone) because the strings on that bass are kinda old & dead sounding, so it wouldn't be a fair comparison until the Gecko's string are a little older/worn in.

Gorgeous bass, Nino-Brown. Your basses always look great to me. I really like your taste in woods and colors. Everytime I see that Warmoth Sad-copy, I think that I should give it a shot. I chicken out over the finish work and nut work though.

You've definitely got a great collection. I'm sensing a shift from Spector to Ultra-Jazz styles though.

    :D

    Thanks gusy's.

shirojiro, If you're worried about the finish, have Warmoth finish it for you. They do great finishing. If you're worried about the nut, odered 3 or 4. they cost about $3-4 each & if you ness one up, you have a back-up.

I love my Spector as much as my Ultra Jazzes. :D

Hey shirojiro, You like my Warmoth Sadowsky Clone so much, here's another pic. ;)

    Nino-Brown,

That's the one! Man, it looks so cool. Don't rub it in too hard, or I'll be running off to Warmoth with my credit card...

How does that one sound? It's got EMGs, right?

  12. VERY SWEET. I'm feeling inspired now. I've spent about a half an hour figuring up an idea what I would have to spend to put one together.
IS there a particular reason you chose the Basslines over the Bart's? Just curious.

I don't like Bartolini's. There are only a few basses I tried w/Barts in them that I like & I tried ALOT of them.

I deceided to go w/the BassLines over EMG's because 99% of my basses have EMG's & I heard/read good things about them.

It's my second favorite bass next to my Sadowsky 24 fret in sound & playability & I've compared the Warmoth Sadowsky Clone to ALOT of basses!!!!!
