And the neck flapping in the wind!
FWIW, I have a ‘98 Geddy.
The neck is quite stable.
... amazingly, 'Red Barchetta' is blaring, as well, uprooting an entire avian society from their perch atop the electrical grid...
(Good morning, my brother!)
It's not too bad. I'm just learning how to adjust it myself now but it hadn't really moved much. At least not that I noticed. I love the sound of this thing though. it has a big beefy bottom end on it the USA didn't.
Sent back the USA and I'm getting a Roger Waters P instead. Minimizing my collection down to four now. '76 4001, '98 GL Jazz, '05 MIM Fretless J and whatever year the waters P shows up. All black.
Good morning to you my brother!
While I took a bit of a left turn playing Gretsches and other hollow bodies, I never forgot how much I missed the CIJ Geddy I traded for a Stingray. I did have a brief stint with a MIM Geddy, but it wasn't the same..
Today I filled that void by purchasing a 2008, CIJ Geddy, and I couldn't be happier! I would love to join the club.
I have recently picked up a new MIM Geddy. How do I join the club?
Pictures! We need pictures of Spider-Man!
Wait no, pictures of your Geddy Lee Jazz!
Been through a months long run playing Old Smoothie and an L2K pretty exclusively. Dug out my USA GL this week for 2 different bands’ rehearsals, and everyone wants THAT SOUND at gigs. OK with me, it starts tonight
Side note, the neck profile - I’ve fondled maybe half a dozen other USA Geddys, and they all feel like toothpicks compared to mine, which is quite wide for a J and at the same time very full in back, which suits me very well indeed. Do I have an anomaly//got lucky? Makes it easier to go from fuller profiles back to this bass, that’s for sure!
EatS1stBassist, Welcome. You are #261
Hello RobinG. Welcome. Your number is #262 pending pictures.
Greetings Jazzmatazz. You are #263...pending pictures. Sorry I've been so tardy in doling out the numbers.
I'll take a number.
And still, you're doing a great job! Thanks @Tulsa Teddy!
TY, and I'll post a pic as soon as I can; It's a busy week.
This 2005 Janapese babe is currently for sale because of reasons. Can ship it to anywhere in Europe (neck and body separated). PM me if interested
Question? Just picked up a MIM Geddy Lee new at Guitar Center....I have since set it up as I like but didn't change the strings....still wearing the Fender strings....all good except the tuning just seems to slip too much? Anyone have issues with the Geddy Models staying in tune?
Playing a gig tonight...which will be its first...maybe it will settle in?
If I have to resort to tuner replacement what would be a good direct replacement?
More than likely just those crappy fender strings.
They should stretch out and settle in
I cannot get rid of the buzzy open A. Different strings, nope. Action not especially low, but raised it a hair, nope. I even bought, modified to fit and installed a stealth string retainer. Nope.
