    Hi,
I play fretless and it sounds just like a fretted one (like Sting's fretless). How do I get that cool jazzy fretless bass sound I hear on Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth (Windows MIDI)?

I mean the sound of Kai Eckhardt's doubleneck on his recordings with John McLaughlin (the fretless neck).

I'm not sure going MIDI is the best way to go for such tone.

maybe use different strings...lower your action.. and check out what your hands are doing... i dont know a whole lot about midi or anything but hands/strings/bass may have a lot to do with your fretless sound.
