The Goose

  1. First, I have no agreement nor endorsement deal with these folks.

This is Take Flight Pedal's initial offering to the musical community. It has 6 different fuzzes, explained to me as such:

It has a wet/dry mix, an adjustable octave level up and a built in oscillator as well.

I am selling off some pedals to get one of these. Seems like a good pedal to add to the arsenal.
  2. Wow, clean blend, crossover distortion point, adjustable impedance. It looks really really good on paper. I hope you do some clips.

Soooo big. Puts my Nocto Loco to shame...
  4. About the X-O crossover circuit, the builder told me this:

Blending with my Muff will be a wonderful adventure, I think.
  5. I ordered it today...it will be interesting to experiment with.

Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to do clips. Someday I'll hook up my Protools I guess...

that thing looks really amazing. considering letting my brown dog go for one of those.
  7. It looks great on paper. If I had the cash, I'd try one...maybe one day :p.
  8. I shouldn't be, but I am really interested in that.

Crossover distortion... so, it can act like the Zvex Machine, but sound good (theoretically) on its own. Plus has some octavia clone in it, a switchable gate, switchable gain stages, self-oscillation, impedance trimpot, and clean blend.

This doesn't look good on paper. This is porn on paper. Fuzz porn.

Anyone care that it doesn't have any tone knobs?

i wish it had a gain knob- and maybe more gain, judging from the clip. the character knob seems to be gain-ish, but it definately changes more than just the gain.

and i have a zvex machine, and from what i saw in the clips, when he turns up the crossover distortion, it definately has that similar texture to it, but it seems nothing like the machine.

if my brown dog sells soon, i'm going to take the plunge and grab a goose- and better yet, record clips with the zoom H4N i ordered earlier today :smug:
  11. I received the pedal today, will anyone be interested in a review of it?

I am also going to try to install my Protools, so I can get some clips created. I have never done this before, so any suggestions on a place to post them to?

I have never done this before, so any suggestions are appreciated.

To answer this question, it is the same size box as an MXR M-80.
  12. I am thinking that if I cascade this with another fuzz, I will be able to control tone better with it.
  13. I'd definitely be interested to see a review and hear some clips.
  14. I'd appreciate a review with clips. Soundclick is good for hosting.

  15. Okay, but all I have is an Acacia Custom 4 with Active EMG's. I can't do a post with passives.

With the adjustable trimpot input, that probably won't be an issue though, I'm just saying.

  16. That should be fine. I'd prefer clips with an active bass anyway...
  17. Okay...

Can anyone suggest a format for review that I can follow that wil answer most of the question that may be presented? I don't want to skip the obvious.

The best thing IMO is to make point-by-point comparisons against other similar products that you have used. For example you could say "in its regular fuzz mode it has stronger mids than a typical Big Muff", or "the octave is not quite as synthy sounding as the OC-2, and not as ringing as a Green Ringer, but more distorted than an Octavia" etc. etc. Even comment on the footswitch, jacks, or power supply if they are notably different than other pedals. Comment on the noise floor compared to other pedals. That way we all have some point of reference for your comments and impressions.

Personally, I wish more people would write reviews like andvari7, such as this one:

Barring that, anything with sound clips and in-a-band-mix experience is a big plus.
