  1. Yeah, same. I learn a lot from him and Matt at Texas Toast, even if the videos are not traditional instruction videos. But at least Matt's guitars are playable in a gig setting. Some of that stuff Ben makes is.....yeah.....different. Mad skills, and much respect for his talents, but odd instruments.

Just looked them up and watched one video and am impressed and subscribed. When I first searched for 'Texas Toast' I came up with a food channel that made me very hungry and I'm now also subscribed to. Thanks.

Hey guys I found a guy kinda nearby, 3hrs drive, selling this for very little money. I'm pretty sure it's a MIJ SR800. Wanted to get some confirmation before I make this trip.

I think with those pickups its a 92 or 93. I've messaged him, hopefully I can get out there before someone else does.

  7. You'd have to see the serial number to know for sure. Reverb had a listing of a 96 with the same pickups. For what it's worth, that listing was $399.

  8. Looking at the Ibanez catalogs (luckily for us they still have the historic catalogs on the website) I see that the SR800 came with the P/J setup through at least 1999. So yea, you'll need to look at the serial number to know year.

Can you post a photo of the back of the headstock?

  10. I'm not the seller.

So, I'm bored at work and dug thru the Ibanez catalogs. Looks like the SR800 had the P/J setup from at least 1991 and at least through 2002. The bass catalogs are missing for 2003, 2004 and 2005 and then the SR800 disappears from the lineup in the 2006 catalog, so it's hard to know what happened between 2002 and 2005. But we can for sure know that it could be anywhere from a 1991 to a 2002 based in the available historical catalogs on the Ibanez website.

I'm waiting for response from seller. I am now thinking it could be an mik. Super clean condition either way and I'll still buy it either way.

If $200 is nothing to you then I’d go for it but I would’ve negotiated IMO.

Ya? This thing looks like it lived in a case the day after it was bought. I won't say 200 is nothing, but it's far from one of my usual splurges.

Thank you! I decided to pass... in conversation with the seller I get the feeling it may be a stolen instrument.
