Actually, Geddy's has a flame maple top & mine is just an Ash body w/no top. I was thinking of not putting a pickguard on it but I like the way it looks with the guard on it.

  7. I like the guard...keep it :)

Looks great, but what's this strange carving(?) near the bridge that I've seen on a bunch of Jazz basses so far?

    Very cool Nino!

I'm a big Rush fan myself.

If I ever make it to NYC, I'd really love to check out your collection, and band.

    Keep up the good work!

I love RUsh, and i live withing an hour and a half of NYC< go me.

  14. I'll take both please.

Man, I really would like a fretted jazz.

But, I am trying to cut back and find a used Carl Thompson.

I may wimp out in a year or two and break down for a jazz.

Geddy has one nice eye for basses. Every bass he has played looks very sexy and so does yours nino. :D

  16. Nino, this is one of the very best looking vintage-style basses I've ever seen. Keep the pickguard! The control plate would look kinda lost without it. :bassist:

I saw the Rush in Rio at the theater and Geddy plays his red jazz on a few of the songs.
I always thought it was painted but it's transparent red over flamed maple. Very nice.

    Nice bass Nino.
