Who makes those basses that are very intricate, and always seem to have a japanese symbol on the upper horn? Is there a website to visit?

    Thanks

Doesn't appear to be Japanese company with a name like Jason Marchlewski!

Not too many perfectionists like him!

Zha Sheung Ma Chi Liu Chi?

(hoping this comes across as innocent wordplay- I don't speak Chinese and don't mean any offense!) :)

  14. Let's see.. that roughly translates to "your mother is a pig.. and your father is a goat..".

They work in Japanese too, though.

    希 【まれ】 (adj-na,n) rare, seldom
真 【しん】 (adj-na,n) (1) truth, reality, genuineness, (2) Buddhist sect originating in the thirteenth century, (P)

finally... someone translates what I wanted them to say... :)

I know very little about the kanji, but I love the way they look... it is art within a "word"...

Heres the latest from Jacob Marchlewski. It should say "friend"...

    My first 2 were Stambaughs...

The first one should mean "soul"... the second is "ki" or lifeforce...

Thanks for enjoying these... I cant say enough about all of them.

No, the first one means "friend"

    友 【とも】 (n) friend, companion, pal, (P

and the third one has the "ki" symbol on it.

    気 【き】 (n) spirit, mood, (P)

As for the second one, it's too small for me to decipher.

Oops, I misread your post. Yep, the kanji on the bass in the first picture means friend, and the kanji on the bass in the third
picture has the "ki" symbol on it. As for the second bass, "霊" seems to denote a specific kind of soul:

    霊 【れい】 (n) soul, spirit, departed soul, ghost, (P)

    Hope it wasn't haunted. :smug:
