I personally don't think the bass will get you into the school but that's another story.

If you want a REALLL GREAT bass & money is no object, buy a Sadowsky jazz bass. The price range on these basses are $2500-4000 depending on the options. If you play one of these basses, you'll never wanna play a Fender again.

    Good Fender choices are the:

    American Dlx-about $1300
    American Series-about $1000
    Mexican Dlx-about $600
    Japanese Marcus Miller-about $700
    Japanese Geddy Lee-about $600

Sadowsky makes the best jazz bass, allright. Fender American Deluxe J basses are good too.

Sadowsky also makes vintage-style J basses with pickguards and control plates. Check out www.sadowsky.com

  8. eastmen huh? ;) sure... a new 'jazz bass' will certainly get you in there.

We talkin about a double bass here?

For SOMEYOUNGBRAGGADOCIO'S sake, I hope so. I've never heard of them taking students whose principal instrument is BG. But then, maybe in the new "Plural" version of the school, they do...

What...you're going to give it to somebody as a bribe so you don't have to take the audition? ;)

Come on, if he shows up w/a Sadowsky, they'll let him go tuition free!!!!!!:D;):D;)

  13. * yawn * :p

Best (jazz)bass is the Pedulla Rapture..

If you play one of these basses, you'll never wanna play a Sadowsky again. :D

  14. Yeah, I gotta get with the times. JULIEARD, is that in MANHATTEN? I wonder why SOMEYOUNGBASSVIRTUOSO isn't applying there? Don't they take Jazz Bass?

I think you should fully wake up before you sayanything:):D. Before I bought my 1st Sadowsky, I went to Guitar Center, bought a Pedulla Rapture J2000 & went to Rogers shop. Sorry, but I left Rogers shop & returned the the Pedulla, INSTANTLY. The Pedulla is a great bass, but it dosen't come close to a Sadowsky, IMO.

  16. If he goes to the audition with a Sadowsky they'll give him the boot right away. They'll all assume he can't afford tuition after buying one of those beasts. :D
