Thank you. It's a bass I've been working on and putting together...finally finished.
You have great taste! drooldrooldrooldrool
J Retro here
I have one of his older Stompboxes and will sell it for a good price. Message me if interested
you coming to the AVL bass hang Dave? I may be interested in that STMP box. Would love to check it out
just got the J tone installed in my DJ. Holy Moses it sounds good. Still dialing in the bass and treble frequencies, and swapped the passive tone cap for a different one that rolls off less mids, keeping the tone really full and even when it rolls off. Such a cool piece of kit, and so much adjustability for a relatively simple feature set.
I am supposed to have a surgery on thy day.
Sorry we'll miss you, and best of luck with the surgery. Lets chat about the stomp box some time soon..
Thanks again, I really appreciate the compliment.
Hi guys - first post here on Talkbass and as a huge fan of J East Preamps, I thought I'd kick off with a couple of photographs of the J Retro I have installed on my Maruszczyk Elwood 4p bass.
I'm a photographer - lucky enough to be able to combine my passion for all things bass with my job.
I can't speak highly enough about the J East pre-amps - they had an upwardly transformative effect on my Maruszczyk which was already a great sounding bass.
Both are picture perfect! drooldrooldrooldrooldrool
I have just ordered a J-Tone for my MIM jazz. Was liking to keep its original sound but with a bit more control when needed. Will be here in a few days and will report back. BTW using Antiquities.
Hello everyone, i would like to buy a John East preamp for my Ray34CA. I would like to know if in the past there have been discounts of sort for Black Friday, etc...
Thanks in advance
What did it have before?
No seasonal sales that I’ve ever been aware of. Take the plunge! You won’t regret it
All right then! I am going to pull the trigger on it! And, if need be, i will pull the trigger on a nordy mm 4.2 aswell. Many thanks everyone
Another great choice, the Nordstrand Musicman Pickups are phenomenally great. I suspect you have a serious tone upgrade in the works. Report back and let us know how it goes !
Hi all, I have a few questions for the John East preamp club...
1. Will my J retro 01 deluxe preamp work with Aquilar/Nordstrand/Fralin split pickups (hum cancelling? Any opinions or stories?
2. Is it crazy to suggest using 18v for the preamp? Better to stick with the 9v factory requirement?
Thanks in advance!
