I am thinking of getting a generic stacked jazz humbucker for my Essex P, but here is the lovely description of the wiring...
"there are 8 wires brown, white, yellow and green 2 of each"

It actually isn't as bad as it seems, each coil is standard 4 conducter, but figuring out which does what, and how to wire it is going to be a pain in the a**. There is no diagram for it, which just sucks.
So I was hoping to wire it for series/parallel and coil tapping, any ideas once I figure out which wire does what to do it?

    thanks guys

If so, you can get wiring diagrams from their web site

No, it is generic (I think).

It looks just like a powerbucker, so it is not the regular sized jazz pickups, but I am assuming the coils work in the same way.
  4. Hmmm.

Couldn't you get a wiring diagram from whomever you're planning on buying this from?

Otherwise you'll need an ohmmeter. to check which wires do what.

Sadly, they don't have one. I had forgotten you can use an Oh meter. I forget which values are supposed to come out where though.
