    Hello friends,

We (http://www.thekellyraeband.com/) had another fun weekend at The Ranch (http://theranch.com/). Friday night we were a little rusty but by Saturday night we had knocked off the rust, cleaned out the cobwebs, and had an epic night. The place was standing room only right up until about halfway though our last set. There were 600 people or more in the place for most of the night.

Our drummer, Mario, was getting hungry. It's a good thing The Ranch feeds the band. ;)

Jeff brought his new iPad and stand to the gig tonight. He's using 'Setlist' and has his necessary lyrics available at the touch of a button.

Before the show the sound guy, Mark, likes to come back to the green room and pick some guitar with us while we warm up our vocals. We were brushing up on "Seven Bridges Road" before the show.

This is the hallway from the green room to the saloon. Our restrooms are there on the left and our wardrobe to the right. I wore my new shirt Saturday night. :p

This was Friday night. Art was letting me play his Taylor while the band warmed up our vocals.

Here's Mario about to "break a leg" and lead us on stage.

And the crowd goes mild as the band enters the stage! :p

Here's Art with his weapons of choice for the weekend. That's the monitor control room behind him. I can't say enough about the fabulous sound and lights at this venue.

Here are my weapons of choice for the weekend. Neither of us brought our full arsenal.

It looks like Jeff is ready to put on the show.

And Daniel is definitely ready, with his "fiddle face" and everything. In the background you see the owner, Andrew Edwards, talking with Kelly before he announces the band.

Mario is ready to lay it down.

Just before we start, here is the view from my microphone. The DJ is playing a nice line dance.

    Here's Kelly in action.

The is Saturday night and Jeff took a picture of the string players. That's me in my new Roper shirt. My daughter picked it out for me when we were shopping the week before. I got several compliments about my shirt, from total strangers. I guess my daughter has good taste.

This is my friend Elyssa, on the right. She and her friend stopped by to say "Hi".

A couple of Art's friends also dance by to say "Hi".

This is Ashley, one of my two-stepping buddies.

Jenny and Maxine also stopped by the stage to say "Hi".

These ladies were helping Kelly sing "Don't Stop Believing". That song always packs the dance floor.

It turns out that these ladies were part of Kathy's (second from the left) birthday party. It's always fun to send a shout out to the birthdays in the house.

Here's the band in full swing.

I think The Ranch has the coolest disco ball I've ever seen, mirror tiled Telecasters. :D

Saturday was also a special evening because Mrs. BassCliff, in the green, and several of our friends joined us. We all had a great time.

This is my sister, Karen, taking a picture with Kelly on Saturday night. We were also celebrating Karen's birthday. She's out here from Indiana and is really enjoying our weather. :smug:

I suppose all good weekends must come to an end. I think I'm the last one to load out because I want mine to last a little bit longer.

And here's one last shot of the remnants getting escorted from the building as the lights come on. I guess they don't want the party to end either.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I appreciate you all putting up with me and taking the time to share my little music career.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

I am always envious of your gigs. I too am in socal and have tried time and time again to get a country cover band going, tough to start. I will make it a point to come out to your next gig and say hello!

EDIT: On a much less exciting note, I am playing Rockwell's tonight in Villa Park. :crying::bawl:

    Hi Kyle,

Yes, please! The Ranch is the only night club that this band plays. Check the schedule on our website or The Ranch's website for our dates there. Check back often because we may be picking up a few extra weekends there over the next few months because the band schedule is being rearranged.

Hey, a gig is a gig. "The Post at Rockwell's" looks like a cozy joint.

Have fun! Take pictures and share them. ;)

    Thank you for your indulgence,

  4. Less pics of the band and more of the girls dancing. Jesus.

"That's the monitor control room behind him."

I usually have to worry if the plates from the chinese food buffet have been removed from the "stage area". Very envious.

Looks like the female to male population of The Ranch is maybe 2 to 1. Just sayin from the photos. Anyway, I hope to get out there to see you and Andrew one of these days.

Guys, thanks for all of your kind words. I'm just lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

Yes, Mr. Stewie26, the ratio is very favorable. If you're a guy who knows how to dance you won't have any trouble meeting lots of nice ladies. That's the only reason they dance with yours truly - I know how to dance and I'm just a harmless old married man.

Please stop by and say "Hi". It would be great to meet you. The band schedule at The Ranch is in the process of being revamped. So check the schedules at http://www.kellyraeband.com/ or http://www.theranch.com/saloon/month.aspx .

    Thank you for your indulgence,

Just waiting to get over a small health issue at this time. Like you, I am married so I will also bring Mrs. Stewie with me.
I do have a single buddy who loves to dance the two step so perhaps I will bring him also.
