I just got back from a sneek showing of the new Tom Cruise movie, the Last Samurai. Now normally im not a big fan of Tom Cruise, but he is absoulutely great in this flick. The movie itself is incredible, one of the best movies of this year. It's rated R for violence, but its done tastefully, not over-indulgent and certainly not glorifying of it. Think similair to the Patriot. The story is very good, and actually edifying(always refreshing in Hollywood.) It is one of thoose flicks that shines as a glimmer of hope among the sea's of Fast and Furious's that surround us today. The movie is probally appropiate for all but very young kids, the violence might be too intense for them. It teaches a very good lesson of service and loyalty, even when the people your serving have turned there back on you. The movie starts a little slow, with a few scenes of some bad language. Although it is slow, its interesting. It requires some patience. At a Quarter of the way through the movie really starts up and only lags a little throughout the rest. All and all its a very good movie. On a scale of 1-10 i say its a 9.
