So I mentioned it in another thread so I might as well say it here. I got engaged!
I've been feel'n pretty stoked about this lately. :)
Also having a bit of fun this morning playing with my new amp build, which be it intended more for guitar sounds fantastic with bass.

  3. Wandered into this group here at TB as a stated act of solidarity. Accepted when offered a number. Quite certain this is the only LBBT group where I hold a presence. My own community exists beyond this site; there are a few thousand of us around. From my point of view, I do what is mine to do because that is what I do. Mine just happens to include a bass, wouldn't ya know? As long as I'm here I may as well make some proper noise!

  5. Mainly curiosity to be honest. I thought it might be a way to see how our experiences shape this online community and to understand what we might share outside of that. Being new, it seemed a way to get to know some of the people here.

My local music community, in my rural area, is full of people who aren't necessarily the most accepting until they really get to know you which can be hindered if they "know" too soon. It's a largely country, bluegrass, and gospel community. My husband plays some of that and has talked about it. I'm pretty close to Clyde's Music Barn if you're familiar with that institution of NC. hehe

It was mutual and we had talked about it previously, we just kinda decided this would be a good time. Also she surprised me with a ring which was pretty damn amazing as I wasn't expecting that, definitely a teary eyed moment. lol

New old bass day for me.

I stumbled upon this one at a guitar shop in the Chicago suburbs. It's a 1987 Carvin LB60 in solid koa. I've been wanting a solid koa bass since the 80's. I finally got one. This bass is feels, sounds, and looks great. I love the highly figured koa neck.

  14. Nice find, PunkKitty! What is the sound like?

You and I have the exact same stand, BTW.

I leans more toward a jazz sound than a p bass sound. But that doesn't really describe it. I'm still figuring it out. But I know I love it.

    Great find!
    It’s beautiful...and I’ve always respected Carvin stuff.
I played in a band with an excellent player And person who loved his Carvin amp...their take on the Twin Reverb...
    We All loved it!

Just playing dress up  where less is definitely more :p

I got snapped & appeared in SGN's online spread covering the 2012(?) festivities > FB_IMG_1529059192735.

Too bad the shot couldn't include my fabulously towering stilleto'd platforms .

I believe this was Seattle's Pride logo that same year... which I thought looked really neat >

(Details often don't stick with me, so I take a LOT of photos as a memory aid :snaphappy::cautious:)

I don't have a Pride gig this year, but I turn every gig in June into a pride gig, whether they want it or not.
My girlfriend and I have a B&B booked next weekend for Toronto Pride.

BTW-catcauphonic, love the outfit, wish I'd seen you!
