Explain where you got that tag line under your user name. Mine is a quote from one of my favorite shows... "Home Movies" Coach McGuirk is explaining why he doesn't have a girlfriend. Here is the clip: The quote starts at around 2:13 Explain yours... (supporting members only)
Taken from Drawn Together, the episode with the super nanny. Near the beginning it explains how Captain Hero hates things that are 'super', and he gets foiled by superglue. So he yells "DAMN YOU SUPERGLUE", my gf and I use it all the time.
A while back, a TB'er whom I can't remember (perhaps the late, great hypnotoad?) posted a picture of a stuffed animal from his computer desk. The tag attached to it read "Squeeze me! I make fun animal sounds." I have no idea why I was compelled to use that as my custom user title, but there you go.
mine is a partial quote from Horace's "Epistularum liber primus" Dimidium facti qui coepit habet: sapere aude loosely translates to: He who has begun is half done: dare to know. I've always felt it rang true to belief / thought / reason / life.
I'm a smart ass. And there will always be somebody who says, Hey.......wait a minute.............rigs aren't left or right handed!
The first one is my band. The second one is the campaign I founded to Sony/BMG Music (Epic) for the release of Fiona Apple's third album, which was shelved in 2003 for lack of commercial appeal. Among other things, we mailed 1500 fake apples to Andrew Lack's office (president of Sony/BMG) and presented him with a petition bearing 30,000+ signatures. The album was released on October 4th, 2005, went RIAA Gold, and was nominated for a Grammy I was in Rolling Stone, People, Time, The New York Times, SPIN, Entertainment Weekly, Billboard Magazine, and on MTV News, VH1, NPR, MSNBC, ABC, Kevin & Bean/KROQ in LA, and Howard Stern representing the campaign. My 15 minutes, anyway! The third one is my record label (still getting it off the ground).
Mine is a phrase that would randomly appear in the classic Sinclair Spectrum game "The Hobbit". Those were the days! Way cool! You want it to get off the ground, and call it HittStreet.
My avatar isn't actually me. But it is the image of a moderately famous author who looks a lot like me only twenty or thirty years older.
I got mine from an old book of quotations(a gold mine for this kind of stuff)- roughly translated it means 'while walking down the staircase, one often thinks of something clever one should have said in the parlor, some time ago.' That is so me.
