Japan is putting out some good stuff, let's see what you've got.
Here is my MIJ Fender Geddy Lee.
Dude! I just had a great Idea I'm starting the made in Mars club.
I hope somebody gets it.
Although mine is almost vintage. Here's my 1987 MIJ Power Jazz Special:
Here's my '83 Japanese Squire:The finish on the top left is not marred-just a reflection. I added the thumb rest and bridge cover. I took off the pick-up cover as it hampered my playing.I'll show a picture of the back next.
Here's the back- it looks sexy in a weird way
my MIJ jazz bass. I love that bass. Found it used for silly price on the internet...couldn't resist
awesome sound with bassman 100 and vintage marshall cab.
Wow nice one p58! I love the naturals.
Don't blame you, that's a looker for sure.
Here's MY MIJ:
Take that Fender cult!
here's my contribution -
1988 Fender P, MIJ of COURSE!
very plain vanilla, i know, but I like it that way. Soon to have a nice black pickguard.
Here is your bass's slightly older cousin, mine is an '86 ....
Here is my Geddy. The pic is horrible but the bass is great. I replaced the Bada$$ with a traditional bridge, strung it with some TI-flats and installed the covers and thumbrest.
The previous owner added to the logo to make it more authentic.
Here is my newest MIJ that just got delivered yesterday. It's a Kramer Focus 7000. Picked it up for $99. It needs some cleaning and some adjustments, but it is going to be a sweet bass.
Ok...here is mine:
It is not a MIJ, it's a CIJ Fender '62 RI Jazz Fretless:
I have a Fender Geddy Lee too, but I need to take some new pics since I added the Audere preamp and changed the PG.
Here is my Geddy along with her friends.......All made in Japan.
Vintage 83' Tama SwingStar with Geddy
The pillow in the kick drum has probably been in there since 85' (vintage) lol
and here with a Roland D5 Synth
I was going to take a picture of the Geddy next to my Toyota Seqoia but I know I have already gone overboard.
All joking aside Japan does make quality stuff. I lived there for a year and a half when I was in the Marine Corps, and these guys take business and education to the extreme. So when ever I see made in Japan I know it will have good quality control. Not to say there are not some bad apples getting through.
Always good to see our basses on these threads....very nice instruments that are reliable, easy to play, and just work in about any musical situation.
MIJ, CIJ, it's all the same thing. Crafted is just a prettier word than Made.
All MIJ, see sig for details
Sweet stuff guys! Keep 'em coming!
