We need a thread for posting all those small (and maybe the not so small) victories to help us maintain some perspective on life. This is it! Post your wins here, from promotions to new basses to finally nailing that tricky bass line. Also acceptable are reaching weight loss goals, quitting stuff that’s bad for you, births and marriages in the family... you get the idea! Let’s hear it for the wins!!!
I’ll start it off. Today I was informed that I have been selected to become the new safety manager at our little processing plant. It’ll be a big step up from turning wrenches for 12 hrs/day. I’m really excited!
Whilst buying groceries a glass bottle of sesame oil fell off the cart, but I caught it with my foot so it didn't shatter and cause a mess at the store. Very minor but very satisfying.
I got a local radio station to play the long 7 minute version of B-52s Rock Lobster from an actual vinyl record. I can finally scratch that off my bucket list!
I finally got a drum track nailed down for a recording. It's been a process. I have played bass for decades, but didn't pick up drums until I was well into my 50s. And, I just turned 60, so it hasn't been very long. It's hardly impressive, but it's satisfying.
The Commonwealth of Virginia has passed legislation—which the governor has signed—to create a license for Art Therapy. Fellow Art Therapists in VA are developing the state board. Art Therapy is licensed in seven states right now. It’s a big deal actually, and i am excited by this progress
Nice! I once got a college radio station to play the Daly Wilson Big Band's cover of the Rockford Files Theme. Behold the 70's glory!
Wow, that’s a huge deal!!! Music and photography help keep me sane- I made three trips to Iraq in the early 2000’s. Creative outlets help a ton.
