This is the most beautiful Univox UB250 bass amplifier in the world. I upholstered a 1972 cabinet in the coolest looking deeply embossed faux alligator material in a gold / brown color. I did the same to a 1975 head. I didn't modify the amplifier, so it's still just 18 watts RMS. In it's defense, it's still louder and has a better tone than a Marshall 2061X and it's accompanying 2061CX cabinet. More importantly, it's the most beautiful Univox UB250 bass amplifier in the world.
Very nice. I bought a 115 Univox combo new in the early 70's that I used as a practice amp. If the amp starts to hiss, you'll know why.
I'm new to the UNIVOX family. I recently bought one of these heads and ran across your threads while researching it. Mine is exactly like the "gator" pic, with the exception of the univox logo is above the fuse, not under the switch. I'm trying to date it...any help would be greatly appreciated..BTW, I really think the Gator recover was very clever indeed!
That is bling! I dig it. I just did my own bling cab recently. Had to go with my 2nd choice, hunter green. Wife hates snakes and she would see that as a huge snakes skin. 1st try on something like that. I did get one nipple on a mitered corner. It didnt feel real so I chrome cornered over it as planned. Very nice work!
Now you've upset my pet Cobra.....Some people!.... And stop using my picture as your avatar!.....Sheeesh!
Sooner the better or my lawyers will be in touch... (Actually....they'll be playing golf but you get my drift)...
