Ok, I work at the Guitar Center Distribution Center in Indy. And like I always do, whenever I unload a truck with Warwicks on them, I sneak a peak at what we are getting in. But something new caught my eye today...a label i didnt recognize...so naturally i opened the baby up, and boy was i in for a pleasant suprise. It was the Bleach Blonde Thumb Bass. Man this bass is beautiful. Ash body with flamed maple top, neck, and fingerboard with killer volcano w/ setting moon inlays. I took it out of the gig bag and hit a couple notes, and it just sang, this is by far the brightest bass ive ever heard in my life...anyhoo...just thought id share.

  2. I tried it at my local guitar store and it didn't seem to have a bottom... as in very nice highs, zero bottom. It was slightly better with the bass boost on the preamp full but maybe it was just the amp at the store... :)

While it *is* extra crispy in the highs, mine's got plenty of bottom even when EQed mostly flat. I'll crank the onboard pre's bass pot if I need to, but I've never yet needed to unless I'm going for that big fat dub sound.

That reminds me of the time I custom ordered my Warwick.

They never did call me as soon as it came in.

Seems that everyone in town was busy admiring it and
taking it for a test drive to bother with calling me.

I walked in the door and saw a store employee wanking on
    my bass.

Ended up with a scratch before I even touched it.

We'll never know if it was a shipping scratch or
came from one of the many 'test-driver's' wrist watch.

...And I thought I'd be the one opening the box to my
    (very expensive) custom order.

    HA!

I would be ticked too, that is very unproffesional handeling of your custom instrument.

I'm still pissed to this day.

I didn't say anything at the time...

The employee I caught Wanking on my Bass was
Bruce Day of Pablo Cruise. And even though he's an
Ass, I still sorta like the dude.

It's funny they do the same thing when you bring a bass into guitar center to try it out throw some amps or for a repair, they guy at the door always thinks he has to do a slap bass performance before checking your bass in.Some people just dont think.

Bro give me the number I'll lay it down.
That is inexcusable! The store is responsible for your bass until it's in your hands.

Like I said, I would have lost my F*%$in mind!

I would have demanded my money back (Im guessing you paid in advance as that is the Guitar Center special order policy) until the issue was resolved.

Its completely unacceptable to recieve an instrument of that status in any condition but *mint* when you first lay your hands on it. If it was a Warwick issue, you should've had them refund you. If it was a Guitar Center issue, then wow..... I would be pissed.

Remember, a manager can really take care of *poop* if you bring him into the situation.

    Peace
    Nick

Nick Man is right...... and it's not too late! I wouldn't care if ya bought it 2yrs ago or five for that matter..... Bro you need to voice this or I will lose sleep! I'd go right to the top of command if it was longer than 1yr. In addition I'd also notify Hans Wilfer (sp?)(warwick owner, his wife is also a problem solver). I have the email addresses if needed.
