Interesting back story, supposedly created by Alembic for a town called "Knobbersham-by-the-sea". The town only has 47 residents, all musicians. One knob per resident. But a google search for the town (or even just "Knobbersham") only comes up with Alembic's website :meh: Either way, it's a sweet bass! Here's Alembic's page for it. Read the knob functions, some are pretty cool while others are just funny.

I accidently turned the "suck" knob up on my bass one time - it took me a while to figure out why I sounded so bad. :p:D

They're just having a laugh with that "Knobbersham" stuff. The second block of text says
If you don't know Nigel... ;)

There IS a knob that boosts all of the other knobs up to 11...

  6. Pfft...the entire upper portion of the body could handle even more knobs :)

The one on the back of the headstock to control the angle it hangs is my favorite.

... I really want to play that bass right now.

  11. Not to mention the back.

  12. This is very cool. I took time to read the article. The knobs are not just sitting there. Each knob actually serves an individual purpose.

Ummmm.......at the risk of being a party poop, you need to realize that this bass first appeared as the Custom of the Month for April, 2010........April FIRST 2010.......need I say more?

Figured by the title this was gonna be about the Hamer Quad 12, but the Alembic's got it beat!

This Hamer is the current record holder - at least until somone posts pics of the BC Rich Bich Doubleneck for sale over at Chicago Music Exchange.
The Alembic is a photoshop job they posted on April Fool's Day of 2010 - well known & discussed here in the past.
