"We tune DOWN to A#"? Guess I still have more to learn. And I'm not sure A# would sound doom sludge folk metal death black psych progressive funeral angular thrashy enough.

So they want slow... or fast... long... or short... simple.... or complex.... Are they firm on Doom.... or Black... or Prog Metal or is there some wiggle room there?

"Release and record for Cassette Tapes/ Vinyl Records"
Because.....we don't want the majority of possible fans to hear, let alone enjoy our music on CD, MP3 or download.
It's great to know there are a few bands keeping the 80's analog technology alive....but unless they actually record on tape rather than the digital ProTools or Logic Pro/GarageBand, what's the point.

    Walkman. Walkman2.

Playing to four fans in your mom's basement doesn't count as a tour.

Nothing about that ad implies they are interested in "the majority of possible fans".
They have a niche/scene they enjoy, and perhaps lots of people in that scene like cassettes and records, and you are not a part of that niche/scene so you don't know. All kinds of folks out there, huh?

I own plenty of vinyl records that were recorded in the ProTools era, and I find "the point" is to enjoy the music. Somehow I manage.

I agree. I'll go out on a limb and say that most, if not all, people that are into the genres mentioned have at least one or the other. Vinyl is big again, and tape makes a comeback too (I gotta know, my band has a tape release out, but admittedly more as a gimmick)

Since the band in question has a Youtube channel, it wouldn't be farfetched to assume they also have a bandcamp account (which is also par for the course in those genres)

Except for the odd folk mention, I think the ad is pretty decent. But rehearsal twice a week? Man.

I tune half of them to A# and the other half to Bb - every other string.
