Whew! Not only beautiful wood, but a gorgeous design! The Ash really accents the Ebony. Nice work, Toonman. Can't wait to see it strung up!

What other specs do you have?
How much longer before it's finished?

sexy curve, nice colour combination, thumbs up man
btw, how thick are those veneers you use?

  5. It's going to be a 4-string 32" scale with 29 frets. It has a 5 piece birdseye/curly maple neck. And since I screwed up the ebony fretboard I was going to use, I'm using a super nice piece of birdseye maple for the fretboard instead. I'll be putting on a schaller roller bridge and gotoh tuners. I use nothing but emg pickups.

It will be awhile before its finished. I dont like working in the cold shop too long. and the vaneers are about 1/32" thick.

Welcome to the 32" club !

  8. it's actually my second 32". here is the first one.

  9. very nice...the top wood is stunning, and really set off well by that ash accent.

That body style fits this project better than the first one, IMO. I was never much of a fan of the "rainbow bass" thang.

    29 frets on a 32" scale bass...hmmmm...interesting...i think

Personally, I play 90% on the first 9 frets and don't think I've played anything beyound the 14th fret in the last 2 months...so I just don't see the point. :)

  16. thanks everyone for the replies, It's going to be one of my favorites, If I dont deside to sell it. its going to have a set neck and the 29 frets give the neck a little bit more length.
