I guess they'll be discontinuing the Fafner, then...*snif*
What? Only _650_ tube watts?! I mean, sheesh, can you even hear that thing over 50w guitar amp?
I dont know. The Fafner is still on their site. And though the Fafner has been discontinued for a length of time in the US it is still available in Europe.
Im sure the new head will be just as good or if not even better.
Its solidstate. There is a tube in the preamp though.
well...it's about twice the SIZE of an hd-350...
Oh Woulda have loved to see my guitarists face turning up in rehersals with that 650 tube watts under my arm
I guess my best bet is one of dem Peavey Classic 400w tube bass heads, then
or an aguilar 400W tube poweramp or two?
Incredible! I'm sure that if it sounds like other EBS products, you'll be very happy!
I SO condidered that head. Im totaly sold on EBS. Went with the EBS pre, thru 2000 watts into my 4 ohms
i'm sure that head kicks butt-
Peter , the Fafner has been discontinued for a while.
the fafner has been discontinued for well over a
okay ram it's time for you to check one out for us
fellow fafner heads..no pun intended.
Hmmm...what a proposition...
A) No can do...I'm trying to buy an Elrick. If I try out that new head, what am I to do?
B) Um...still no can do...not in Chicago yet.
C) Mmmm...trying to buy Elrick...trying to buy Elrick...trying to buy Elrick...EBS...I mean Elrick.......
Ram- did you miss that Elrick 6 recently in GGuitars? i made a bid and thought i had it for a minute but i guess someone picked it up- the zebra- it was sweet- maybe for the better , though,.. neckthru's and the desert....
man- ill say it again- the new rig with the EBS pre is kickin my butt!!
like i said last year,ya just cannot go wrong with anything by ebs..plain and simple.
which EBS pre adrian? the classsic or the v2
the classic, i was told the v2 never made it to the us
is there a reason for that?
i was basically told there was not enough interest in it to make it part of the US line- im sure one could be had directly from Sweden, but the distributors never brought any- and it was their opinion that the classic was a better choice anyway..some things are beyond control, such as getting a batch of Kingstons and Heirs without pickguards- no go.
In this Swedish store they have two used v2 preamps for $390 each.
it's funny- this reminds me.. we were in Santiago, Chile on tour once , and we were relaxing after ashow at the hotel bar. Our musical director walks up with a tray of beers, " money is no object" he said, " i'm buying the beer , and it's imported!!" on the tray were several bottles of Budweiser. Which goes to show, i read recently where it said Glockenlang was cheaper in Europe than SWR or some other common brand in the US. Here, you have to take out a second mortgage. Those prices are WELL below dealer cost here in the US- maybe i should take a little trip to Sweden, for business purposes, of course
you guys wanna give me a shopping list??
