It's basically time for me to get a better bass.

Right now I play a six string Ibanez SR506 with an Aguilar OBP3 and stock pickups. It's held me over, but I'm looking for something high end now.

    Here's what I know I want:

    -six strings
-something very bright sounding (probably maple top)
    -3 band eq
-Very nice high C string (no thin-ness allowed!)
-Very nice low B string (good fundamental all the way up the neck)

For my budget, I would like to keep it more or less around $3k, but if I absolutely have to save up more for that killer Ken Smith etc., I can.

So I want to know what your suggestions are. I've considered Ken Smith, Wal (this might be quite impossible), Fodera (very pricey), MTD (heard good and bad), and lately have been drooling over Jerzy Drozd basses.

    Thanks in advance.

First maple bass I could think of is the Streamer Stage 1

It is generally agreed they have great tone, but they are heavy.

I think the majority of those luthiers are way over 3k with any kind of options/personalizations.
