The OFFICIAL Craigslist funny email scam thread.

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by fenderhutz, Dec 16, 2007.

  1. I decided to start a thread of funny questions/reponses from Craigslist ads.

Here is one I got a few minutes ago.

    What is the NORMAL price?

  2. I have a feeling it's from someone who doesn't speak English as their primary language, and they used the wrong word...

  3. I have a few...

I listed an Peavey 1810 and 115 cab along with a Century 200 head recently. This is what I received...

I will be needing the following for the payment to be done as soon as possible
    Your full name
    Address

I will be waiting to read back from you
    Regards Justin
    ----

I actually replied to the last one since he listed an actual name... Justin. I asked if he was a scammer and this was his reply... "no am not.."

Then nothing.... what a waste of time. Every time I list on Craigslist I get the same crap.

    >
    > OR ALSE I WILL REPORT TO THE POLICE. AND MY UNCLE
    > IS A FBI NEAR TO YOU AND I WILL FORWARD ALL YOUR
    > INFO TO HIM
    >
    > SO I WANT U TO GET BACK TO ME AND DO SOMETHING

Bad English, and talking about shipping. Craigslist is a locally geared site, so shipping is usually rare. Those are usually red flags. ANd if they don't ask specifically about the item you're selling, at least mentioning is specifically in the message, that's another red flag.

  8. When the supposed "buyer" describes what is for sale by the word "item" and "current condition" and "last price" and will not reply to your email you can pretty much bet it's a scam.
