I have noticed a few different makes of basses made only for Guitar Center and sold at their stores while also at their online affiliates like Musician's Friend and Music 123. I thought it would be cool to start such a Bass club just to get an idea of how many of these types of builds are out there. Granted it will definitely be a niche club, but it will be an 'exclusive(ly made for Guitar Center) bass club'. It would be great if you could post a picture of your exclusively made for GC Bass with the year and a brief description about what is different about it, i.e. special color, special shape, special model name, special pups...all the things that made it different than the usual models the manufacturer made that make it exclusive for GC. Note that this isn’t for house brands like Mitchell. A number will be issued for those wanting one provided pics and a description including year of manufacture are given Then based on this information we can generate a list.
I'll start with my Gretsch 5123B These were only sold at GC as a door buster special in limited numbers. Later they started selling them through MF. This bass is not listed on the Gretsch website. Mine is a 2011 model year and 32" scale It also later came in Burgundy. {}
I’ve either had a few or still have them. The first was a 2012 Ibanez Soundgear Bass. SR 500 PBBBF. It stood for Poplar Burl Brown Burst Finish. Here it was. {} The other was a 2017 Ernie Ball/Music Man Bongo 5 HH in Barolo Metallic Purple with a Roasted Maple Neck and Black Hardware. Here it is. {}
The Bongo 5 HH is a 2017. I’ve only had it for slightly over a year. I edited my post to show its model year. I forgot to do that before. I think they were also exclusive to Platinum Room Guitar Centers only. Or at least, that’s what the GC Manager told me.
Here's the bass that started the whole idea Dean Zone XM 2 {} Made in 2010 with a 34 scale length. Metallic Black finish. Love the way it plays!

I'm excited to see what other GC exclusive basses there are. With them being in business 59 years, who knows how many exclusives we're made. Next year for 60 years, we may see quite a few even.
Mighty fine looking signature you have there now that you added 'Made Exclusively for Guitar Center Bass Club'!
{} {} Cool idea for a thread. Funny enough both of mine were GC/MF specials and I think they’re awesome!
I don't have one, sadly, but Steinberger made 25 silver XL-2s for GC only back in the late eighties or early nineties.
It's a silver lava guard but it was on the body when I acquired it. I'll try to remember the website I've seen them on. Edit: Try this: Warmoth Custom Guitar Parts - P-Bass Pickguard
I've seen the champagne room in a place called Platinum, but I've never seen a guitar center with a platinum room. I think both of those basses are amazing. Being a lefty, I will never be able to join your club.
