This just came in, and will be a flip. Listed in Classifieds after I added fret indicators and set it up. Is very cool , but have decided Im stepping away from fretless for now. I have no gig requirement for one, and it’s distracting me from focusing on more important stuf. Plus I need the $$$ to recoup the cost of this…….

Which arrives Friday. Oh, and I also have 2 of these on the way……..

Currently in process in china…..ordered them unbadged as I have no desire to own a counterfeit. It’s a Rick body with a Spector style thru neck. Was never offered as a production model, but I figured I’d mod them with better electrics and bridges….here they are in process. Hopefully will arrive soon…

For lack of a better term, is that the Kip Winger Special? He's been playing basically that on tour a lot recently, IIRC.

Personally, I think it's cool and I very much respect your choice to leave it unbranded!

Just finished a “Glow Up’ on a $99 Glarry I had in the rack. Got it in a 2 bass deal ( Ray4 & Glarry P for $299…FB Marketplace) Both were quite a mess, but I made a project of the Ray4 and gifted it. I had a bunch a high end parts in the parts box so…. The Glarry just got a set of Sadowsky Metroline Japan Tuners and a MetroExpress Bridge. Hipshot string retainer, shimmed the neck, full set up and Elixirs. Damn, this is now a pretty great $99 bass.

I've now ended up three basses, all kinda Ps:

(1) G&L LB-100, with a Fralin pickup, strung with Chromes flatwounds.

If I had my time again, this might have been a '54-style P, with a Fralin '51 pickup — some music I play on it doesn't like the jump from the A to the D string. I suppose I could convert it....

(2) G&L SB-1, with their MFD split pickup, strung with light Roto Bass nickel-plated rounds.

If I had my time again, this might have been their Kiloton, with a humbucker in the Stringray spot. I will certainly convert this to a Reverse P, to get a more even tone across the strings.

(3) Yamaha TRBX204 converted into being a standard P, with a Dimarzio pickup, strung with heavy Daddario Pro Steels.

If I had my time again, instead of buying this I would keep my Squier Matt Freeman, and buy it a lightweight body and tuners.

So, I'm happy .... but things could have been a lot different! 🤷 ☺️
