    First!

And to continue the Next Skjold debate, mine will be a fretless LP with the custom preamp and two SC-1's.

    EDIT: Damnit Will!

    LOL!

Virgil, nice track, dude. And of course I "kinda' like" the tone, as well. ;)

Did Virgil finally post a clip from his session? How did I miss it? Where's it at? :eyebrow:

Man, I hate to sound dumb, but for the life of me I can't find the link. I swear I've combed the thread to no avail. I feel like an artard, and hate to even ask, but got a link? :bag::oops:

Great! Sitting it down isn't the problem right now. I can't find enough time to pick it up! I've been having to wait until 10 or so at night to get my hands on it, when everyone is in bed. I play through headphones that time of night, which is cool, but not like going through a rig. I have a small gig tonight that I'm going to use it on, but it's just a wedding party. I'm not sure if it'll be formal or if they'll loosen up and have fun. Hopefully the latter. Either way, I'm most anxious to use the bass this Sunday in church where it will really be at home with all the gospel tunes.

I also have a CD release party in a couple of weeks where I'll use it. This will be a live radio broadcast on a local station that is also streamed on the net, so if anyone wants to listen in you'll be able to. I'll post more details as it gets closer.

Right on! You should be all grins at the gig. The Skjold's are so much fun in a mix. Can't wait to hear your gig experience.

Ahh.... That makes sense. I thought I was going crazy. Thanks for clearing that up. :smug:

Well if our basses sound as close as they look, I can see how Vic might get confused. :)

As silly as all you guy's talk gets, I still feel like I should subscribe to Skjold threads. MAYBE, among all the clammer, somebody's going to say something cool.

Good luck. We're all like giddy school girls with our new Skjolds. :D

On a more on topic note, I have found that my right hand technique has had to change slightly as my thumb anchor as Tom put it, is pushing the B string down on the Pickup when I'm not careful. My right hand now falls directly over the neck pickup where my Sadowsky it would naturally fall in between the two jazz pups. The right shift of the bass with bridge placement has this effect no doubt.

Guys, are there any audio clips around of skjolds with the C4 pickup? A skjold with a C4 and the three band eq strikes me as an interesting beast.

I also had a learning curve for my right hand. The pickups placement had my right hand looking for a place to anchor. Yes, the B string was handy but on the Roscoe I've been used to, the soapbar was in a perfect place.

    You'll get used to it.

Things went good for me last night! The gig was indeed small and very low volume. Acoustics where pretty bad. We were in an old plantation house that had a ballroom in the back. The room had hardwood floors and was about 6 feet off the ground. Plaster walls, hardwood ceiling. You get the idea. Still, the Skjold was great. It was smooth and effortless to play. Very crisp and even sounding. The guys commented on it sounding "really smooth".

Tomorrow is when I get to crank it at church. Based on last night's fun, I can't wait!
