I don't like the asian warwicks becuase they are mostly made of maple. (at least thats all i've ever seen them made of) no bubinga, no ovangkol, no wenge, no afelza, and honestly.. they just FEEL inferior. They sound fine. there are lots of them being played here at MI. But to me, they just FEEL like a budget buy. they feel like i'm playing with a toy. and it disinterests me.
WHAT I DO NOT LIKE, is that they are being sold at the OLD warwick price range. and that german 'wicks are being sold at like 300% higher prices.
Pricing themselves out of the game, is what hurts them. I don't know anyone in the states personally, that owns a german made warwick that was made since rockbass started and the german prices soared. I know I don't. And, well probably never will, simply because they are too damned expensive. and I own FOUR, almost five (layaway) of them. all german.
Oh but how I love them ...
