    I did more digging...

The Switchcraft 152 and 155 have the short lugs. The 152B has the strain relief, which clamps around the outer jacket of a coax cable and takes any stress off of the solder joint. It's not really necessary inside of a bass, but might be useful in other applications.

It came in today so I threw it in just now...

After looking at this pic the white wire may need a better solder.

    Blackout complete! Haha

It could use a touch-up, but I've seen worse.

Congrats on the blackout! My Fortress is the only bass I'm not blacking out

I'll reheat it. After a long day of work my hand dexterity was garbage haha.

Just put our first little clip online. Recorded with the 2004 Ltd Jazzman that I just sold. :)

  8. Well this was a pleasant surprise!

I got some Delano JMVC4 FE/M2 pickups based on threads here because my Corvette standard was noisy and lacked low end compared to my other basses.

They sound great. They get all the nuance of the natural sound of the strings and wood on this guy. That was no surprise based on the rave reviews.

But I assumed the hum cancelling was going to just be in the middle position, revered polarity. Assumed this seeing only the one set of magnets.

But these are dead quiet in every position.

Those Delanos are split coil...two windings out of phase so they are essentially humbuckers.

I have the MM shape FE/M2 in a Corvette $$. Definitely a great way to brighten a dark sound with MEC pickups.

It hasn't set in yet, but I know I'm going to regret not getting that one.

It’s a killer bass, the pup/electronic update definitely rules. I’ve wanted one forever. Now I’m looking to add a pnut 3 to the fam.

You always have a good collection of Warwicks. Pretty sure I bought my Thumb 5 BO from you. I'm tempted to swap my stock electronics to EMG or Delano for fun.

What were stock pickups for a SS1 in 1992? Would bartolinis been?
