ok, this is the one bass that you have always wanted, absolute favorite, nothing else even comes close. mine would be a carl thompson six string. i'm not a six player, but i'm sure by the time i will be able to get my hands on one i should be quite good.
well, i don't have a dream to have a specific bass, but i will say that before i die, i'd like to have an exotic topped, 5 string bass, tuned e-c, with a lot of knobs and dials! similar to what a lot of people have on tb now. i do think i'd like one of those! Charlie
Right now I'm stuck whether I want to stick with ERBs, or just 5ers. If fivers: USA Spector! If ERBs: Benavente! Ray
Well, I can't just choose one so here it goes. I just recently cured gas for one I've wanted. Not too long ago I ordered a Nordstrand NJ 5 Deluxe set neck with a nice Bubinga top, Ash body, Wenge back, and a Maple/Wenge/Maple veneer/Wenge/Maple set neck, and Nordstand Dual Coils. I've always wanted a MTD 535 w/Wenge neck and fb. A recently, a Sadowsky 5-string P/J Modern Jazz. OK, I guess I'm just greedy, either of these basses would suite my needs just fine but I want them all.
Hmmm...Having actually dealt with that a couple of years ago thanks to a little health issue..... I chose a Sadowsky PJ5. and if that health issue ever crops up again, I'm buying another Sadowsky.
It is a Ritter, I have played a 5-string one of those with a different finish. My response to this thread, is none. There is no bass that I feel that I must own to make my life complete. Forgive me, but basses are just tools. When I think of what I'd like to do in my lifetime, owning a specific bass doesn't even enter the equation. In my lifetime, I want to see my children become adults, and I want time with my future grandchildren. Owning one particular bass just doesn't compare.
What's the retail on those things? Damn it's pretty!!! But yes, when you compare basses to everything else in life, well, there is no comparison. If I had to give up bass for family or the likes, I would in a heartbeat. Ray
