Couldn't resist picking up one of these sweet CIJ '51 Reissues. Man, this thing is about as perfect as a production bass comes! With the exception of the Jaco Artist basses, this one is easily superior to recent new American J's and P's I've owned since the mid to late nineties.

So when I get the call for those gutbucket, rockabilly or blues gigs, this thing running through a Mesa Boogie 400+ and a couple of 15's is all about old school thump!

With TI Jazz Flats this bass is toneful, easy-playing and, well, just downright fun. No, it won't supplant my sevens on my regular gigs. But I hadda have it. BTW, I paid $599 to my door, brand new from MF. No case or gig bag.

When's the five string model coming out?!? :p

Seriously... I dig those old P-basses. Those single-coil pups with just one pole per string have a tone all their own (and I say that as high praise).
