the original svt drivers?

    anyone know the brand? i hear they used emminence for along time, but i am guessing the original ones may have had alnico magnets? johnny a.

    Yep, CTS alnicos, and Altec 426a's were available as an upgrade, but CTS's are way more common.

    Yup - stamped frame CTS with (I believe) alnico magnets.
    Back in the 70's those cabs were rated at considerably lower power (240W rms). That's why Ampeg recommended two of them with the SVT head.
    I think those cabs sounded better than today's SVT cabs.

    That's what they say, but I've had mine up way louder than that and they've held up just fine.
