    Good point.

I just came across the same scenario when attempting to buy a bridge directly from Hipshot, I found their prices were much higher than if I went to a retailer.

  2. Sorry about that, I didn't actually notice the price. It's a third-party seller, so they can set whatever price they like. Ric strings should be under $30 a set.

Actually, that price is reflective of the “Amazon tax”.......a great place to buy stuff, but ya gotta watch them closely.

I've seen similar prices out in real-life music stores and on eBay, too. Sam Ash so far has been the cheapest I've seen.

Now that I have that sorted out, which one do I keep?

Very observant! Changed the harness but the old switch tip is loose on the new switch. Probably going to put some Teflon tape on it to tighten it up.

I prefer the vintage style knobs. And since the walnut and maple is the keeper, I agree, swap the knobs.

I'd say keep the limited-run 4003 with the checker binding. Who knows when you may see one again. I love the 4003SW, but you'll probably be able to get one of those easily anytime. But why not keep both?

I definitely prefer the vintage look, but especially with the simpler dot neck,no binding models.
