Bathroom scale says 9.5 pounds. Ruler says just about 3 inches.
Thanks!! My 4001S, FL and 4004 measurement is 4.5" saddle to bridge.
Bet it sounds great!!
Agreed! They all look better with vintage knobs.
Cover the mail and you can have mine.
That looks very nice.
Great photo, looks like you are digging into it! Does that qualify as Bass Face? I've always pictured you as literally Fred Sanford. You Crazy Kids and your Avatars!
Regarding the fake Rick on eBay, I caught the narrow truss rod channel. That was easy.
Good catch by @rickdog on the thin black inner binding. Something did seem off about the binding. It seemed to stand out too clear, but I couldn’t tell why. I actually like that binding treatment better.
Sort of a bass face thing! My first name is Fred and I love Sanford and Son, so the avatar seemed appropriate.
But....Do you like Colt45 malt liquor?
Nuthin' better than a 40/45.
I thought it was Ripple?
Had a few back in the day... Not so much now
this one's in the talkbass classifieds now
Actually it was...Champipple!
I'm in the process of modding an old 4001 tailpiece to replace the generic looking Schaller bridge on my new S5. It will sport a custom machined aluminum bridge insert supplied by our own Jeff Rath. Thanks again Jeff! Here it is so far. I have to slot the front of the tailpiece for intonation adjustment.
If you don't mind, what are the hollow bodies L to R? Thanks Scotch!
That’s pretty nice,and i do have a pbass i’m not using much....
You are correct sir haha!
Actually the bridge was made by another member here who is a bass player and a good machinist
