In this thread, let us list the sights/sound/sensations that bassists enoy/endure that the rest of the less fortunate world doesn't.

    Example:

    Sliding harmonics
A 4 in strap constricting your head movement.

  2. Something that we like but noone else does?

    To hear us.

Low end in itself is a sensation. I like having just the responsibility of the low end, knowing I can throw things in that just add to the music.

I like the way my Low C sounds when playing.
When walking in jazz, going to the low B is crazy.

also, I quite enjoy having 4 1/2 octaves on my bass.

Knowing that we're the reason the chicks are shaking their tatas.

Well, we got Talkbass. I say that that is one special thing that others don't get.

  16. Watching a whole room filled with people dancing in time with the groove your laying down.

The feeling when your locked in and in the zone with your drummer and the rest of the band - all the hair is standing up on your body, the place is bouncing and you glance down at your hands and the music is playing you!!!!!

Being able to stare at chicks and remain invisible is always a plus.

Being able to zone out, screw up, and not get noticed...
