I saw this show on Fox last night - I'd seen it advertised, but I just saw an episode. OMG, what a piece of garbage. To start off with, it's Paris Hilton who as far as I know, her claim to fame is that she was in a widely distributed under age porn and then her co star who I know nothing about. Last night they were to help a very young girl get ready for her first date with a boy. That just seemed so inappropriate, and let me tell you - it was. The girls parents were very conservative and obviously not rich. The parents sent them shopping with a credit card but gave the girl a $75 limit. So they take this little girl shopping and entertained her with some homo erotic lesbian behavior in the store while shopping, then encouraged her to spend nearly $500 when her parents had made it clear that there was a $75 budget. Then the parents left these two bimbos to chaperone their daughter's date. The parents made it clear what they expect to happen - nothing inappropriate, no short skirts, no kissing, etc. As soon as the doors closed, one of the bimbos says "They're gone - it's time to get slutty…" What in the %$#@& is wrong with the people at Fox. These bimbos shouldn't be allowed near a 13 year old girl, they were a horrible influence in every possible way - but then again, I think that was the whole point of the program. Worst reality TV ever!

    -the parents suck too.

I didn't see it, but I also do not live on Mars in a cave with my fingers in my ears (thanks Cecil). I would never let Fox, any Hilton, or what's her face, anywhere near my kids.

Nicole Ritchie = Lionel Ritchie's daughter

I have seen it advertised, but I never watched it. At least there are better programs to watch instead. Daily Show, Conan, Adult Swim, Premium Blend, Comedy Central Presents, etc.

Yeah, this is like the 2nd season of that show. If you're a parent that REALLY doesn't want to have your kid badly influenced by these chicks then WHY did you sign up for them to stop by your house? I mean, you'd have to be stupid to not know what they are going to do. I didn't see that episode (try not to watch that shiz) but I can pretty much guess what kind of clothing they showed up in. Common sense would tell you not to give these people free reign over your daughter.

It's all a setup, really. The porno was just a publicity stunt to get everyone interested in Paris, who beforehand had less celebrity appeal than Billy Crystal. Damnit, I hate Billy Crystal.

The funniest part of that show was when Paris stole all those cooked crawfish at the party and added them to the live crawfish they were supposed to catch the next day...and sold them without shame!! I like the show!!! Paris and Nicole are a funny pair.

i love paris hilton, but i love nicole richie more.
they make me laugh so much :D

i'm probably going to get flamed for this, but they remind me of me and my friends to some extent. we're not as wealthy but we have the same shamelessness and morality ;). i just see them as two girls having as much fun as possible with no concern for anyone else.

something i can truly sympathise with :D

Well, I really have no problem with these two and the way they are. What I have a problem with is that the premise of the show I saw, was to expose a very innocent little girl, who comes from a totally different world then they do, to their way of life.
It's a lot like the way I feel about Grizzly Bears. I have no problem with Grizzly Bears in their natural environment. I'll watch them do there thing and quite enjoy it. Put the same Grizzly Bear in a populated city and I am horrified. Same thing with these two (Paris and Nicole) if they are on a runway doing modeling or at a party doing cocaine or making a home made porn - that's all well and good. But don't put them with an innocent naive young girl from a lower middle class upbringing. There influence will not serve her well. It's setting a Grizzly Bear loose in the local Wal Mart. It's just not right. See Gia - no modal bashing. I'm just bashing FOX and reality TV in general.

    Fair enough :)

But as vbass said, the parents must have known what they were letting themselves and their daughter in for.
I mean, why would you sign up to the show without getting background information on Paris and Nicole, and watching previous episodes of The Simple Life

Well, I certainly didn't know who she was until there was a big hoopla. Still haven't seen the video, because while I might be a shameless horndog, I do believe in cultural backlashing. Whereby I don't see a movie/read a book because everyone else IS.

Yeah, it goes to show how messed up the entertainment industry, and to a degree, capitalism, has become. Any idiot can become a star, and make millions of dollars, while people with talent, and intelligence will struggle for the rest of their lives.

And agree, I do not find the deathy anorexic look attractive at all.

I thought the show was called "Simple Minds." Oh well, it would've been more fitting.
