The Slap-ability of a Spector 5 string

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by count_funkula, Aug 11, 2002.

  1. What does the string spacing on a Euro Spector 5 string compare to? Is it wide enough to comfortably slap on?

Anyone know how it compares to a Carvin LB75?

Teena Marie's bassist used a Spec 5, and he slapped on it very well. I've owned one (Czech), and I didn't have a problem with it. The Carvin may have a wider spacing than the Spector.

  3. I had issues slapping on mine, but my technique is horrible. :D

I own an ibanez btb and learned how to slap on it. now going from that to my new spector euro 5 the string spacing is a little tighter, but it does not hamper me as much as some of the washburns/warwicks.
