There's natural and there's supernatural, so there must be a "subnatural." My spellchecker doesn't recognize it, so I am going to assume it's not common parlance yet. The online dictionary definition had some physics mumbo jumbo I'll never comprehend so I am turning to the last refuge of insight in this crazy world: TBOT.

    What is subnatural?

It's akin to to superliminal (as opposed to subliminal and liminal).

A hoagie stacked with your choice of uncured meats and of course, the obligatory bean sprouts and maybe some organic tahini spread...

Apparently it has something to do with spectroscopy.

All I know about spectroscopes is that they're used to determine the chemical makeup of celestial bodies. That's all I got.

i_got_a_mohawk, you know anything about it?

That doesn't sound nearly as cool as power vampires, which is where my head was going with this.

  8. I don't know for no subnatural, but subhuman is what I see in the mirror.

I can teach my iPad words by typing them repeatedly. It recognizes "Hearmph" as a word now, as I use it quite often in disgust. After looking in the mirror.

  9. Also, when Roger Ebert was on his deathbed, he mumbled something like "It's all a big hoax! Everything is happening all at once!"

Maybe there are other lives happening in a spectrum we can't see, or time is fractured after it happens and repeats in the spectrum.

    Where's the exploding head smiley?

Subnatural is freaking in instead of freaking out.

Natural can be measured. Supernatural is beyond our measurement. Subnatural = ?

As supernatural phenomena are just natural phenomena we haven't understood properly yet, maybe subnatural could refer to things that we understand all too well.

Time is an illusion tied to matter and therefore decay. Outside of the universe where there is matter, time does not exist and indeed everything is happening all at once.

I'm reminded of Terry Pratchett's concepts of superstition and substition. Superstition, obviously is belief in frequently untrue things without proof. Substition would be disbelief in true things.

So I guess to the FAUX 'News' crowd, global warming is a substation.
