Pretty straightforward, let me start with mine.

It's a 70's reissue body with an Allparts bnb neck.

EDIT - Shall I start issuing numbers?

EDIT - Doesn't have to be a Fender.

I don't need a number, but I'll show my support for this nascent club; "That '70s Jazz Bass"! (aka: Fender Classic '70s Jazz)

…and no, those aren't scratches on the backside. Those are just clouds reflected off the finish.

  3. I don't want a number but I'll also show my support. Old photos as I no longer have the BAII installed. 20140221_202551.jpg 20140221_202557.jpg

When I installed the Dagstar pickup, there was too much interaction between the two pickups within the circuit. This started as an AVRI '62 stack knob, and they are known for the interaction in the circuit. Original stack-knobs have additional caps in the circuit to eliminate this, thus allowing each vol/tone to work independently, but these caps also cause a loss in high-end. The reissues left these caps out, meaning when you change the tone on one pickup, it also affects the tone of the other. Sort of defeats the purpose of stack knobs, right? So when the neck pickup went in, I also rewired the controls. Each pickup goes into a vol/tone stack, and then straight to its own input jack. So essentially there are two entirely separate circuits in this bass. It's not the most elegant solution, and I may in the future rewire in a version of Rickenbacker's Ric-O-Sound setup. It also means I can route each pickup through its own effects and into its own amp.

  8. Reminds me a lot like Alex Lifeson's dual-input jack setup. Man that looks complicated, but hey, if you're able to master it and love it, to each their own! This is why I love jazz basses; incredibly easy to modify the controls and such

  9. Except for the pearloid inlays and the BAII, your bass looks like mine. It's almost scary. XD

  10. Here are my two fretless jazz basses, a Jaco and a squire nodded with new pups and electronics.
