I bought an Aggie S810 for $599 back in early '06 when they were getting phased out. Tight and punchy with a nice balance of dark and bright. Nothing gets you into your music more than the hammer blow of an 810 on your entire backside. You'll literally feel every dollar you invested in your rig I find it hard to adjust to my Markbass combo after spoiling myself with this beast. When my 810 and the SVT shows up, my friends all cheer while the two gui****s begin preaching the benefits of in ear monitors for the band
Nice rig. And really nice pair of Bongo fours... Of course, strictly speaking, tinnitus is much more typically caused by high frequencies than by lows... MM
Gosh, I haven't seen one of those since the 70's. I had one with a yba-3 head. Great sound but I couldn't keep power tubes in the head.
Old Traynor 810 cab from the seventies....Death From Above 1979 bassist uses one (or two?) of these along with some rediculously high-powered solid state heads to get his unique distorted tone. I want one now.
Haven't had a problem with tubes. The amp has been modified to use 6550s, and it's been reliable so far. It's got the same tubes I got it with in 2004.
That's true, it's about as hi-fi sounding as a tube amp that old can be. It has to be turned way up before you get any kind of grind.
