The worlds most expensive strings

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by Gallient Knight, Dec 22, 2003.

  1. I bought the worlds most expensive strings this weekend, and ironically only needed 1 replacement d string. These strings will cost me about $622 US dollars.
    $22 dollars for a 4 string set of D'addarios.

$600 dollars for the dent I but in the car I ran into in the parking lot.

They do sound better then my old strings, just not that much better.

I gotta say the most I ever spent on a set of strings was $29 something for a set of Rotosound 66BS Billy Sheehan custom gauge 43-65-85-110 set.

But my regulars are LaBella Hard Rockin' Steel 45-65-85-105 for $18.50.
  3. Sorry to hear about your Car. Do you have insurance?

I like the Thomastik- infield strings, they are a little pricie at 52 bucks a set, but last a long time.

That reminds me of the story that John Entwistle used to buy new basses with Rotosound roundwound strings because you couldn't get the strings otherwise.

Once I paid $200 to go see an Indie rock show in Milwaukee.

    $12 admission, $180 speeding ticket. :D

(The only ticket I ever received.)

Ironically i just had this conversation with Ken Smith today. The most expensive strings I've purchased have been TI Jazz flats at $41. ( and they stunk!) and LaBella 760n's at $34. per set.

    >>> Just out of curiosity, what didn't you like
about the TI flats? They are kinda different ...
  16. Man i don't know about you guys, but that's nothing, on a serious note for expensive strings.

Have you seen the price tag for a 6-string set of Elixir strings? At the Steve's Music near my house they're $89.99
