Reading back in the thread I think the USA(NTSC) copy has resurfaced after an unscheduled tour of westcoast Postal Offices, so we may be off the hook on the back transfer.

I second the request for a review from Steve, a teacher's perspective should be amusing!

"It's supposed to be on it's way! They said that it got sent somewhere in Oregon, then to California, but then came back. Don't know why. However, it's on it's way, and I've seen it with my own eyes after it came back. Should be there in a couple days. Sorry about the mixup, but it's not my fault! I originally sent the video off like a month or more ago."

So, I guess you should get it soon. :)

Did I really spend 40 minutes watching that video??

My favourite part has to be the out of sync section where he is playing his bass during the silent parts and not playing at the noisy parts, and the bass "solo" he plays at the beginning and end sounds Awful, just a load of notes stuck together with no apparent aim or purpose.

the only possible thing that this video could teach you (other than how not to make an instructional video about soloing on bass) is what notes to play over the chords he named, however, given the lack of competence with the rest of the video I wouldn't even trust that!!

Ok who's the next person (Victim??) on the list?

PM and address and I'll send it along pronto like!!

whats with the CD? cool tunes though!!

    er thats about it

    adios

That was just a comp CD I thought I would send with the vid to make up for its lateness:). What tracks do you like?

I'll post my coments when I get more than a few minutes with the computer.

  14. Since you guys are all serious about being musicians and bass players. And since just about all the instructional videos out there suck more than a porn star. Why get together and work out a series of videos yourselves?

I figure you could do a series of them. Equipment, basic finger style, slap, percussive slap, music theory and etc. Since you guys all know what is really needed all it should really take is some forethought and a digital camcorder.

Hell you could burn a CD with tracks from each person to contributes to the video and include that as a "free" bonus. I'm pretty certain that, especially if you guys did a good job on it, that many new players to this (and other bass sites) would buy it.

If the quality was decent I'm pretty sure I would. Hell if nothing else you could avoid having to continually answer the same old questions from new players by simply pointing them to the videos. That'll also show you what new videos might be needed from the things that people post here, and elsewhere, of stuff they want to learn. *shrug* perhaps even videos on how to emulate the style of significant bass players.

There must be some demand since there so many of the d**n things out there.

C'mon y'all, there's only 317 replies on this thread (well I guess mine makes 318)

Please don't tell me that this well-traveled turd has been lost forever, depriving us of countless hours of entertainment, not only watching it, but goofing on the whole genre of cheesy "instructional" videos.

  20. 319 now.

If this thing is still going around Europe I'd like to have a laugh at it.
